LA Based singer/songwriters Daphee (Daphne Puente) and D. Salas (David Salas) have been making waves in the music industry for years now with their exciting blend of Retro, Soul and Latin songs.
D. Salas has produced music for Smokey Robinson, Jenni Rivera, Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas, Lil Rob and has had hundreds of songs placed in TV and Film. Salas grew up in the studio as the son of Rudy Salas from 80’s supergroup “Tierra” which was co-founded by his Uncle Steve Salas. Tierra has the distinction of being the first Latin-American band to have four songs on the national charts – the biggest being the hit single “Together”.
Daphne was born in LA and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She had always been interested in music and arts as a child. She grew up playing keyboards and the accordion and sang in community events. She is the voice of the song “Hair Like This” which went on to become a viral and cable TV sensation showing up on “Toddlers and Tiaras” on TLC, “Dance Moms” and “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition” on Lifetime and Oxygen, “House of Consignment” VH1, “Step Up 2” (Trailer), Loreal (hair products) and finally as a theme Song for WETV’s “L.A. Hair” which ran for five seasons. Daphne was signed to Thump Records in 2015 and released her album “Dreamer in California” in 2017. Daphne and David were married in 2013 and continue to write for high profile artists such as Grammy winner Jay Perez, Tierra, MC Magic, DW3 and many others.
